Core's vibrating pulse is designed to help guide your focus and soothe you as you meditate. Along with your breath, it helps to anchor you in the present moment and pull you away from distracting thoughts.
Our guided meditations are paired with a preset pulse that complements the session, while unguided meditations allow you to fully customize the pulse.
Pulse Settings
There are three main pulse modes: Guided Breathing, Soothing Backdrop and Interval Pulses.
Guided Breathing is designed to guide your breathing with a pulse shape that mirrors a typical breathing cycle. In Breathe mode, you can set the tempo of the pulse and breathe in sync with it. A good starting point for the breathing tempo is 10 seconds, about how long an average deep breath is. As you use Guided Breathing mode more and more, you'll be able to fine tune the tempo and figure out what works best for you.
Soothing Backdrop puts the pulse in the background. The vibrations will slowly come in and out in a steady flow, and serve as soothing reminder to stay in the present moment. This mode is great if you want to meditate with an anchor other than your breath, or if you prefer to meditate with unguided breathing.
For Guided Breathing and Soothing Backdrop modes, you can also set the pulse to fade out after the beginning of your meditation and back in towards the end of it with the Fading toggle.
Interval Pulses delivers a short reminder pulse every interval to help you notice when your mind has wandered, and bring you back to your anchor. You can set the Interval Length from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
